Resource: direct and indirect

A stem that produces the day master is resource. The opposite polarity is direct resource. The same polarity is indirect resource. Resource means something is producing the day master. It is not a diploma.

Polarity splits one relation into two names

The same “produces me” becomes two names only because the polarity matches or does not. Name the character and whether it sits on a pillar or inside a hidden stem. Do not stop at “there is resource.”

Keep output and officer in the same sentence

Resource produces the day master. Output is what the day master produces. When both appear, write that the source and the outlet are both present. They do not cancel to zero.

When the month’s main qi is resource

Illustration: the day master is Bing fire, and the month’s main qi is Jia wood. Jia produces Bing and the polarities differ, so it is direct resource, weighted 1. You can say the month’s main qi is producing the day master. It is not “suited to study” or “an elder is protecting you.”

Common mistakes

  • Turning resource into a verdict about schooling or a mother.
  • Mixing direct and indirect resource without checking polarity.
  • Giving a hidden resource stem the same weight as a visible stem.

Is more resource better?

It only means more, or heavier, characters produce the day master. Weight is not a moral score.

Is indirect resource the bad kind?

No. It still produces the day master. The polarity simply matches.

Is resource on the hour the same as resource on the year?

The relation name can match while the pillar differs. Say which pillar you mean.
