What the board is
A Qi Men board stacks heaven, direction, and a human channel on nine palaces: Kan, Kun, Zhen, Xun, the center, Qian, Dui, Gen, and Li. The eight doors are Rest, Life, Injury, Block, Scenery, Death, Shock, and Open. The lead star is the hour’s ruling star. The lead door is the door that is active now.
The useful door follows the question. Work looks at Open, money at Life, the other person at Rest. The door’s palace is a direction on this board, not a Zi Wei life palace.

What it is not

Other Qi Men schools rotate plates differently. A board from another school is not evidence that this chai-bu board is wrong until the method is the same.
