How the element weights are added
The eight surface characters are not enough. Hidden stems are multiplied by 1, 0.5, and 0.3 for main, middle, and residual qi. The sum is the element count.

What day-master strength looks at
Strength is not a single high or low score. This site writes whether the day master stands up by season, by roots, and by what produces it. Each item can be pointed at on the chart.

Add the weights before you speak
Stems, branches, and hidden stems each add an element, and hidden stems are multiplied by 1, 0.5, and 0.3. Only then say which element is heavier. An equal count is not equal force.
A pattern name does not replace the count
Traditional pattern names are wide. This site prints weights and the strength items first. It does not turn a pattern name into a grade. The name can be an index. The stems and branches are the fact on the chart.
Heavy wood is not good wood
Illustration: after weighting, wood is clearly heavier than metal. You can say wood is louder. It is not “strong wood means kindness” or “missing metal means you should add metal.” Missing is a count, not a diagnosis of a lack, and not a supplement to take.

Is a strong day master better than a weak one?
Neither is better. Strength describes whether this chart produces the day master, controls it, and gives it roots.
Can I change the chart by adding an element?
The chart is calculated from the birth moment. The wiki does not turn elements into advice about food, colors, or directions.
Why is the month so loud in strength?
The month branch often carries main qi at weight 1, and tradition uses it to ask whether the day master is in season. Roots and resource still belong beside it.
