What questions a BaZi chart can hold

BaZi fits structural questions: which element is heavier, how the day master is produced or controlled, and what this decade lays on top. It does not fit “what happens on a chosen day,” and it does not replace a medical, legal, or financial decision.

Structural questions fit; dated ones do not

A useful question can point back at the characters: what the month is, where a ten god sits, which luck step is current. A question that cannot point back, such as which weekday for surgery or whether to sign, is not answered by this chart.

An unknown hour stops at three pillars

Without the hour, the year, month, and day can still be read, and the hour pillar stays empty. Do not choose an hour to complete the eight characters, and do not use a guessed hour to talk about later life.

Rewriting one question

Illustration: the original question is “Will I get rich next year?” Rewrite it as: which element does next year’s marker make heavier, which ten god is that toward the day master, and was that element already heavy in the natal chart? After the rewrite it is still not an income forecast.

Common mistakes

  • Using BaZi to decide on surgery, a lawsuit, or an investment.
  • Concluding from an hour pillar when the hour was unknown.
  • Describing a weak day master or a void branch as a health problem.

Frequently asked questions

Can it name the year of a wedding?

It cannot assign a year. At most you see a luck step making officer or wealth heavier. That is still not a wedding date. Marriage matching is a separate relationship chart.

Can two charts be ranked against each other?

No. Strength and element counts are not a ranking. Marriage matching compares only inside the relationship types that tool declares.

What if Zi Wei disagrees?

Keep both calculations. Do not edit either chart’s characters or palaces so the sentences match.
