Ten gods name how another stem stands toward the day master: what produces it, what it produces, what controls it, what it controls, and what matches it, split again by whether the polarity agrees. A branch shows one character and can hide further stems inside.

A ten god is a relation, not a job

No day master, no ten gods. Direct and indirect resource produce the day master. Eating god and hurting officer are what the day master produces. Direct officer and seven killings control it. Direct and indirect wealth are what it controls. Friend and rob wealth match it. The traditional names sound like social roles. On a chart they still mean “which relation this stem has to the day master.” They are not a job title and not a ten-point personality scale.

Hidden stems are weighted 1, 0.5, and 0.3

A branch can hide one to three stems. This site does not treat them as equal. The weights are 1, 0.5, and 0.3: main qi, middle qi, residual qi. You cannot call the hidden stems three day masters, and you cannot rewrite the weights as one third each. The branch you see also carries an element. The hidden stems are a second layer inside it.

Two layers inside one branch

Illustration: the day master is Jia wood. The month branch hides Wu as the main qi and Yi as the middle qi. Wu toward Jia is indirect wealth and weighs more. Yi toward Jia is rob wealth and weighs less. Say: indirect wealth is the main qi here, rob wealth is the next layer. Do not say “wealth and peer are half each,” and do not turn indirect wealth into cash already received. Without a day master the names have no reference.

  • Turning ten gods into jobs or a personality score.
  • Splitting three hidden stems into equal thirds.
  • Labeling ten gods when the day master is missing.

Frequently asked questions

Do visible stems and hidden stems matter equally?

Visible stems sit outside. Hidden stems sit inside a branch and carry weights. Write both layers. The weight says which layer is louder. It does not say which layer to delete.

Why not split the hidden stems evenly?

The rule here is 1, 0.5, and 0.3. An even split would make the residual qi as loud as the main qi.

Can ten gods show a suitable job?

They describe a stem’s relation to the day master. They do not convert into career advice or an income forecast.
