A chart holds a lot. Without an order, a reader grabs the most familiar star and collapses the chart into one personality sentence.
This section fixes the order: question, topic palace, stars in that palace, san fang si zheng, si hua, then the luck period.

When you have to leave for a chart
The “stars in this palace” step has to be the stars the tool printed. A star page in the wiki only supplies a tendency. It does not supply your placement.
Ask about one topic palace at a time. An entire life is not a question that can be finished in one pass.

Why not start from the brightest star?
Brightness or familiarity is not the topic. The topic is the palace the question points to. A star enters the sentence only inside that palace.
Does finishing the steps guarantee a conclusion?
No. If the data are incomplete, the star is not in the topic palace, or the question is beyond what a chart can carry, the conclusion is to stop.
Does this repeat “how to read a chart”?
That essay is the procedure. This page only says why the order exists, and when to leave the wiki for a chart.
