Once the numbers are fixed, the hexagram is fixed
A different number is a different cast, not a more accurate correction. Do not edit the numbers until the hexagram looks welcome.
Host and guest are the trigrams, not two names
The trigram that holds the moving line is the guest. The other is the host. Generation and control are read there first.
3, 8, and 2 cast one hexagram
Illustration: the numbers 3, 8, and 2 set the upper and lower trigrams and the moving line. Change 2 to 5 and it is a new cast, with a new question. These three numbers are not numerology.
Common mistakes
- Editing the numbers for a preferred hexagram.
- Using the time of the question as a birth time.
- Treating this host and guest as the BaZi pair.
