Casting from time or from three numbers
Meihua casts from numbers at the moment of the question. Those can be three stated numbers, or the time of the question converted into numbers. A birth date is not an input. Once the numbers are fixed, the hexagram is fixed.

How three numbers become the two trigrams
The traditional count divides the first two numbers by eight. The remainders select the upper and lower trigrams, and the third number selects the moving line. Follow the steps the tool prints. A different number is a different cast, not a more accurate correction. Do not edit the numbers until the hexagram looks welcome. These three numbers are also not numerology.
A time cast uses the time of the question
When year, month, day, and hour are converted, the clock is the moment of the question, not a birth time. Keep the two apart. This is not Liu Yao’s coins and not Qi Men’s nine palaces. Once the time is stated, the hexagram is counted from that hour. Do not move it to a more convenient one.
Change one number and the cast changes
Illustration: the numbers 3, 8, and 2 produce one hexagram and one moving line. Change 2 to 5 and the line or the hexagram changes. The second result does not correct the first. It is a new cast and needs a new question. The digits in the illustration only show that the arithmetic follows them. They are not a lucky set.

- Using the time of the question as a birth time.
- Treating the three numbers as numerology.

Can I keep naming numbers until I like the hexagram?
Each set of numbers is its own cast. Repeating them starts many casts. It does not converge on one answer.
Which is more accurate, time or three numbers?
Neither is more accurate. One uses the moment of the question, the other uses stated numbers. Choose one and finish that count.
Is a birthplace required?
No. Meihua does not use a birth date or a birthplace.
