Najia loads stems and branches onto the lines
After the six lines are stacked, najia loads a stem and branch into each line from the hexagram family. Without that layer, generation and control have no elements.

The load belongs to the lines, not to a birth chart
These stems and branches come from the hexagram, not from a birth. Do not treat najia’s day branch as a BaZi day pillar. The clock of the cast is stored with the reading and is still not a birth time.
Month, day, and moving lines come after the load
Void, month-break, and day-clash need a branch on the line. Skip najia and those marks have nowhere to land.
Line three receives a branch
Illustration: najia gives line three the branch Wu, and the month clashes with Wu. Write that this line’s branch is Wu and the month clashes with it. It is not “line three therefore fails.” Generation and control still depend on whether this line is the useful god.
Common mistakes
- Treating najia stems as a BaZi chart.
- Discussing generation before the stems are loaded.
- Replacing the time of the cast with a birth hour.

Do both stem and branch enter the relations?
The branch is where month, day, and void land. Write the element relations the tool prints. Do not add a second set.
Does a still hexagram still need najia?
Yes. With no moving line you still need to know which branch holds the useful god.
