Type looks at whether the Sacral is defined and whether a motor reaches the Throat. Authority takes the first item that holds, in a fixed order. Neither is a grade on a personality test.

The five types come from channels, not from a wish
Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector are decided by centers already connected. Wanting another type does not redraw the chart.
Authority is where a decision is checked first
The order is emotional, sacral, splenic, ego, self-projected, and environment. Reflectors use the lunar cycle. It is not a title and not an order other people must obey.
A defined Sacral stays inside the type rule
Illustration: the Sacral has a complete channel, and a motor also reaches the Throat. Match that structure on the type pages. Do not skip the channels and pick a pleasant type name. Authority then takes the first item that holds. It does not list five authorities side by side.
