The orb decides whether an aspect counts
An orb is how far an angle may stray from the exact aspect and still count. Each aspect on the chart prints the actual separation and that orb. Outside it, the aspect is not named.

Conjunction, opposition, square, trine, sextile
About 0, 180, 90, 120, and 60 degrees. One degree off and ten degrees off are not the same sentence. A square is not a punishment and a trine is not a prize.
Name the two bodies, then the angle
Moon square Saturn means the angle between those two points falls inside the orb. It does not schedule an event. A synastry aspect needs two natal charts first.
Is 92 degrees still a square?
Illustration: Mars and Jupiter are 92 degrees apart, and the orb still covers the neighborhood of 90, so it is a square. At 100 degrees, past the orb, do not call it a square. It is not “a square means failure.”

Is a conjunction the best aspect?
A conjunction only means two points sit close. The angle does not decide whether that is welcome.
Do I read aspects before houses?
An aspect is an ecliptic relation. A house is a sector of the local sky. Write both.
What does the chart print for each aspect?
The actual angle, the difference from the exact angle, and the orb. Cite all three. Do not stop at the word square.
