Elements and the three modalities
Fire, earth, air, and water are the elements. Cardinal, fixed, and mutable are the modalities. The chart prints both a count and a weighting, and does not collapse them into a personality.

Keep both the count and the weight
A planet near an angle can be louder than one far from it. Equal counts can still weight differently. Do not merely tally signs.
A missing element is not a defect
Little air only means the air count is low on this chart. It is not a personality diagnosis and not a nutrient to add.
More fire, less mutable
Illustration: after weighting, fire is highest and mutable is lowest. Write that fire is louder and mutable is lighter. It is not “an impatient person” or “unsuited to changing work.”

Does the Ascendant’s sign join the element count?
Use the chart’s own counting rule. If an angle is included, say so. Do not add it a second time yourself.
Can these elements be matched to BaZi’s five phases?
Not directly. One is four tropical elements. The other is stem-and-branch phases.
Is the heaviest element the dominant personality?
It only means that group is louder. Personality is not the conclusion of the table.
